Unfurl Ceramic Vase I

A bud beginning to open, captured in ceramic. Unfurl I draws on biomorphic sculpture, translating the unfolding of a protective shell into a vessel with layered vertical folds and a naturally flaring rim.

Form & Glaze

Raised contours echo the overlapping bracts of a plant, while the opening spreads outward in an irregular, unfurling gesture. A richly layered golden-brown kiln-reactive glaze brings depth to the surface, emphasizing the vessel’s sculptural folds.

The design holds a moment of emerging life in stillness, expressing the quiet tension and energy of natural growth.
